This week we started working on building our stamina while reading to self, as part of the Daily 5 program.
We learned about finding 'good fit' books, as well as the three kinds of reading. We can read the words, read the pictures or we can retell the story.
When we read to self, we need to remember to:
1) Get started right away
2) Work quietly
3) Stay in one spot
4) Read the whole time
So far our best stamina has been 13 minutes and 20 seconds this week, but our goal is to get to 20 minutes very soon!
