Freya: This is an olden times washing machine. They used to wash their clothes with it, but nowadays we use electric washing machines which help a lot.
Freya: This is an olden days T.V. They used to have to get up and press a button the T.V. if they wanted to turn it onto a different channel or turn it off.
Freya: This is an olden day phone. You used to have to dial numbers on them to make a call to someone and there were no games on it. Also it was plugged into the wall so you could not carry it around that much.
Dante: Changes over time. This is what Jakarta looked like in 1945. This is Patung Pemuda statue. There are only a few cars in this picture, but there are lots of trees.
This is what Jakarta looks like in 2017. Now in Jakarta there is a highway. There are lots of cars and lots of traffic jams.
This is what Bundaran HI looked like at some time in the past. There are lots of high buildings and there were only a few cars here.
And this is Bundaran HI now. This is the Grand Indonesia. We go there to play and eat on the weekends. Now there are lots of high buildings and lots of cars too.
We wanted to find out about some changes in our parents' lifetimes and grandparents' lifetimes so we decided to each write our own surveys and ask them. After collecting our data, we presented our findings to the class. Then we discussed them and looked for similarities and differences.
