Note: After Clare read the poem, I asked the class who Helen Keller was. There were quite a few guesses, but nobody knew for sure. I gave them the hint that she was 'in the dark' literally. They have been given a special homework assignment tonight to try to think about what that means.
Teddy: She was in the dark, because she was blind.
We decided to find out a little more about Helen Keller.
